Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Neuroscience Conferences for 2010

Do you want to attend a neurology, neurosurgery, or neuroscience conference this year? In an effort to provide a consolidated webpage, I’ve compiled what I deem the most exhaustive online listing for 2010. I’ve included as many links as possible to official sources/sites with a rough idea of registration fees; however, should I have left something out, please feel free to comment and I’ll be sure to update the list. Only programs conducted in English are included.

We would like to hear from program participants and organizers, especially on the less-known or fewer-attended conferences. As major conferences draw near (e.g., AAN, AES), we will offer reminders, customized coverage, and interactive commentary from participants, presenters, and speakers.

Note to medical residents: Here is your opportunity to use your residency allotment/stipend for conference travel. Remember to plan early to arrange for call schedules and rotation requirements. Also, should you have an interesting case or a research project with any findings, your abstract submissions will undoubtedly be accepted in conference proceedings and/or poster-presentations at most venues.

  • It’s very helpful information. great! thanks for that. But i wonder there isn’t a single neurology, neurosurgery, neuroscience conference hosted in my country India.

We’ve added the “International Congress on Neurology and Rehabilitation (ICNR) 2010” and the “59th Annual Conference of Neurological Society of India (Neurocon) and Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS)”. Should you have a specific conference that you wish to be included, just reference the conference website in your comment.

Go to You Tube: Type in autism seizures or autism self injury to see a very educational set of videos on one of the most baffling cases of autism and seizures mixed with self injury ever seen. Speculation: seizures causes self abuse. self abuse trigger more seizures. Also, multiple antecedents, such as loud noises, being hungery, thirst can trigger self injury, which could then trigger more seizure activity. Now try and figure that out. What meds are best? What tests should be done? What things should be ruled out? Investigated?

          Hi!

That may be too late, but some people talked about their experience over there: http://rmm257.blogspot.com/2010/07/spam-ference-in-china-anyone.html?showComment=1280508222179#c3492294469707466949

To summarize: apparently, there is really a conference, but the only attendants are the speakers themselves. Furthermore, it seems the technical content of the conference itself seems to be pointless (no review of the work, too large range of topics, etc). Frankly, from my reading, it looks like a scam to me. But I have not attended myself, so I am not drawing from my own experience.

It is another trick for notorious EPS to suck money from academic. Something needs to be done to stop EPS that is located in Montreal, Canada, and operated by Yao Lu. Yao Lu and his associates search Pubmed for email address and then target all academic people. One of my friend unfortunately went to one of meetings and told me that the meeting had only about 15 speakers and 3 of Yao’s girls! I think, anyone who is going to update his/her CV by saying him/her being a speaker in EPS meeting will seriously damage rather than improve his/her academic reputation.

  • It’s very helpful information. great! thanks for that. But i wonder there isn’t a single neurology, neurosurgery, neuroscience conference hosted in my country India.
