It is another trick for notorious EPS to suck money from academic. Something needs to be done to stop EPS that is located in Montreal, Canada, and operated by Yao Lu. Yao Lu and his associates search Pubmed for email address and then target all academic people. One of my friend unfortunately went to one of meetings and told me that the meeting had only about 15 speakers and 3 of Yao’s girls! I think, anyone who is going to update his/her CV by saying him/her being a speaker in EPS meeting will seriously damage rather than improve his/her academic reputation.

To summarize: apparently, there is really a conference, but the only attendants are the speakers themselves. Furthermore, it seems the technical content of the conference itself seems to be pointless (no review of the work, too large range of topics, etc). Frankly, from my reading, it looks like a scam to me. But I have not attended myself, so I am not drawing from my own experience.

Any news on these EPS global conferences? I received an invitation as well for an international congress on rehabilitation medicine and want to know if this is real or not. Has anyone ever attended one?

Here’s a link to their facebook that suggests that perhaps there really was such a conference. I’m not sure. But, if they made it up then they went to a lot of expense to fake this picture.

Go to You Tube: Type in autism seizures or autism self injury to see a very educational set of videos on one of the most baffling cases of autism and seizures mixed with self injury ever seen. Speculation: seizures causes self abuse. self abuse trigger more seizures. Also, multiple antecedents, such as loud noises, being hungery, thirst can trigger self injury, which could then trigger more seizure activity. Now try and figure that out. What meds are best? What tests should be done? What things should be ruled out? Investigated?
