Of course, one of the best ways of enhancing muscular and mind/body coordination is yoga. Yoga - or 'yoking' to take it's original root meaning is the process of intergrating mind/body and spirit. Many of the exercises - particularly the balancing postures, work on improving spaitial awareness, concentration and improved brain functioning. They do this tghrough activating the thalamus and other sections of the mid brain. These areas of the brain are involved in a number fo different functions, incluing balance, concentraion and fine motor co-ordination. See Smart Moves by Carla Hanniford - who devised the series of exercises called Brain Gym. This system is used in schools to enhance memory, co-ordination and concentration in young people. It's basically yoga postures which are designed to intergrate the left and right brian hemisperes for improved functionality, and that includes proprioception. There was some research in the past which suggest balancing excercies for kids helped them read and write too - and was considered very helpful for kids diagnosed with 'ADHD', or other learning difficulties. Unfortunatley I haven't seen any articles on this recently. Ultimaley this area of enquiry will develop over time to demonstarte the benfits of mind/body/spirit intergration through co-ordinated intentional movements which facilitates congruence for people. It is rooted in awareness - awareness of what the body is doing and how the mind -mental and emotional faculties are behaving. Once you have awarness of these areas you are in a position to create appropriate thought, words and actions which help you achieve your goals. It has physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits. A good place to start is with proproiception. Hope that all makes sense ;-)

Great post! Because somehow the brain "remembers" the information from proprioceptors. Thank you.

Interesting observation is this: when you perform a spinal anaesthesia and the patient’s legs are bent (because he or she is lying on the side), afterwards they think their legs are still not straightened.
