It is stronger than any anti-depressant drugs, more effective than any amphetamine, and more useful as a bond between suffering friends and family members.I remember that when I brought my father for his physical therapy in Texas after he had a stroke, there were several stroke patients older or younger than him. One particular patient told my dad he was depressed because his ex-wife never visited him after he had the stroke. My dad told him to look at the bright side of life, that he still had a wonderful future ahead of him because he was younger, My dad told him that a lot of "old men" accomplished great things during their old age. They found new meaning in life. Since he trusted my dad, he confided a lot of his life in him. When he had to move to another state later on, he confided to my dad that the doctor said he was getting a lot better and that his attitude toward the treatment has changed. He attributed all this to my dad, that not giving up, looking for opportunities and seeing the bright side of life made him a happier person.Although my dad does not know anything about how stressors operate. etc. he was able to practice what he preached.

Always looking on the bright side of life is like a golden rule for my dad.
