Pregnant women who receive adequate emotional support from their spouses tend to have a happy disposition during pregnancy and therefore have a lower risk of having post-partum depression or post-partum psychosis. So men also play a vital role in helping their spouses go through such an emotional stage. It’s hard not to be depressed when you’re pregnant because of all the hormones so I guess this is where a husband’s role is quite most needed.
