As the weather cools in the Dallas area I enter an approximate three month window where walking in the neighborhood in the evening is pleasant. But then again, we live in a pedestrian neighborhood with mature trees. As a registered nurse working in a PACU I am noting a steep increase in the number of women in their early twenties, as yet non-childbearing, who are already tipping the scales at two hundred pounds. The other day another nurse had a client weighing greater than five hundred pounds and at the same time I had a client weighing greater than four hundred pounds. I always make a mental note to continue my daily exercise in some form or fashion. That being said, individuals who live in large apartment blocks may have little incentive to even take that evening walk. Ahhh, to live near Hyde Park in the summer!Tammy

I agree with the need for more quality outdoor space such as nature trails which mark off the jog or the walk with incremental designations.
