Dr. Weisler presents facts. Research shows that medication is the best treatment for ADHD. The theories of ADHD support it. The theory is that ADHD involves inadequate firing of neurotransmitters in the brain such as dopamine and norepinephrine. The only way to stimulate adequate firing of these neurotransmitters for an extended period of time is through stimulant medication. These are facts. Not brainwashing. Is medication the best treatment for ADHD? So far, yes. Is it the only way to treat ADHD? No, but other methods have not demonstrated efficacy for extended periods.I am not anti-medication. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 40 years old. I had serious driving issues early in life. Indeed, I was still a dangerous driver. I had trouble with relationships. I lost a lot of jobs. Did I have successes? Yes. I have five degrees, I am an attorney, I have published a number of articles. Have I achieved at my intelligence level? No. Despite my education and successes, employers were generally frustrated with me.Enter stimulant medication. My current employer seems to be happier with me. Do I still have problems? Yes, but not to the extent that they interfere with my ability to function, as in the past. Do I drive better? Generally, I am much safer to other drivers on the road than I used to be.I don't see how brainwashing plays out in this scenario because Dr. Weisler's comments were fact-driven, but I'm not anti-brainwashing either. Perhaps you don't see that the foundation of society is culture. Culture is brainwashing. Movies have explored this premise. What would happen if a child were raised by wolves and then brought to the US to assimilate? Wouldn't go well. Not sufficient cultural training, which is also known as brainwashing. Can brainwashing be bad? Sure. Anything can be bad, but you haven't differentiated between what is good brainwashing and what is bad brainwashing.I can sort of detect a motive fallacy in your comments. If big pharma wants to make money, that doesn't make the medication they sell bad. People with the best of intentions can do horrible amounts of damage. Similarly, people with the worst of intentions can do a lot of good. It is the basis of capitalism. Either a specific medication is good for the people treated with it or it's not. It has nothing to do with the motives of the people involved in getting the medication to the patient.

I’m not following what your problem is and not sure what you mean by brainwashing.
