This is wonderful. As a victim, survivor, and now an advocate against dv, I see so many who slip between the cracks of the laws. DV is not a problem that can be put into one category, and that is one of the many things that we (UAADV) want the bureaucrats to understand. Thank you for visiting my Blog, and bringing my attention to this article. I have shared this with my groups, also. We are many, and we are growing. It is so sad some of the stories that I am told. I am one of the lucky ones, able to escape that horror. I thank you for this, as others will, too, I am sure!! BRAVO!! I am looking forward to reading more of your thoughts on this, and other related matters.

I, too, like your article. Domestic violence is complicated. Poverty, racism, shame, love, attraction, kids, religion, depression, substance abuse, and on and on - it isn't algebra - there isn't a "formula."

Although, there are patterns of behavior that are common, everyone's personal story is different.

Excellent article. An area I've been looking at lately. I also see the connection between unfettered market forces (liberalism and capitalism) and if Govt policy does not respond with adequate safety nets then crime rises and along with that stressor, DV.

Well done.
