Watch out for Avastin! We were told my husband’s MRI’s looked good (with a caveat that they are never 100% sure, but nobody bothered to tell us (& what we’re now hearing) is that this drug keeps the brain tumor from absorbing the contrast dye–so of course the MRI looks good. Has anyone else experienced this? While this drug may have bought us time, I’m extremely disappointed that I didn’t have the whole truth, as it would have changed how we approaced the end of our “time.” We would have opted for qaulity vs quantity, and would have been able to take a trip to see relatives and make prudent plans. The truth is always better in the end.
